What changes/improvments from 2001 model to 2002 model?
I found 2 S2000 cars at a nearby dealer . Car #1 is a 2001 w/ 19K miles. Car #2 is a new 2002. Incase the 2001 car is a creampuff and I can get it at a good deal, I wanted to know what improvements were made to the 2002 model. If the improvements are significant, it may be worth paying the different for the new car. The price they quoted over the phone for the 2001 was $29,500 and MSRP on the 2002. What do you guys think the 2001 is worth? I'm thinking $25K???
How long is the factory warranty?

From the library here's a list of 2001 to 2002 changes:
Year 2002
Colors: Grand Prix White, New Formula Red, Sebring Silver Metallic, Berlina Black, Spa Yellow and Suzuka Blue Metallic. Red Interior is available Grand Prix white, Sebring Metallic, and Berlina Black. Blue Interior is available on the Suzuka Blue.
Options: Instrumental panel now has chrome look, Center console is now leather, Rear window is glass and mechanism is now slightly different, Shift knob has leather around, Shifter is again improved upon, Dead pedal is standard, Headunit changes to improve quality, Chrome ring around the rear taillights, Interior can be one color only from seats, panels to carpet etc., Tweeter on door panel, Cargo net added on the bottom of the door, emergent trunk release.
In addition there were some suspension "tweaks" that from what I understand, make the car handle more neutral, i.e. there's less of a tendency to oversteer at the limits on the 2002 vs. the first two years of the car.
$25K would be a good price on the 2001. However the glass rear window in the 2002 may be priceless.
