most of the batteries on the market are made by only 1 or 2 companies. one of them being johnson controls and I believe that is who makes the constco battery

I went to the Irvine costco too and they told me the closest one that had it was either Fountain Valley or Hawaii LOL so call FV and see if they have it. I got mine there. GL!

not sure which group it was though. forget now

Are you searching by battery, or by make/model? I find it hard to believe your Costco doesn't carry the right battery.

Another question I've always had though that maybe someone in a costco thread can answer: does the S clear the lift pads for Costco tire changes?

It was either Burbank or Glendale that for sure didn't carry it as well, I was surprised by this. BTW how much cheaper is the Kirkland s2000 battery compared to somewhere else?

I just bought a Kirkland battery at Costco two weeks ago. It is group 51R, with better specs than the stock battery , works extremely well on start up. With the 51R you just turn it 180 degrees to get the posts in the right spot. This is an excellent battery for relatively low dough.

Be careful using the "51R" instead of the correct "51". When you turn the battery around, it ends up leaving the posts with less clearance to the hood. It can cause problems.

As others have said, the 51R size works fine. Since mounting posts are not down the center of the battery, when you reverse the battery install (NOT the terminals!), the posts are closer to the edge of the car. No issues with wire length or mounting post height. Mine is an '05.

The Costco by me only carry Interstate Batteries. I guess they don't label them Kirkland anymore.

Item #850251

500CCA. Was $69.99, not including core charge. There's a $15 core charge, which you get back when you return your old battery.

Use your trusty 10mm deep socket or open-ended wrench to install.
