what to do?
just picked up an 03 sebring silver bones stock... i have about $1000 to spend on it right now, what should i do?? i was thinkin maybe slam it with some coils or get some springs?? or maybe intake and exhaust?? what would you guys do??
I would put it into some audio equipment first. But, if that isn't what you really want, I would do an intake and exhaust. I think you will get the most enjoyment out of that do to the sound and even looks.
I was kinda in your situation a month ago..... I bought a bunch of little things, 06 radio door, broadway mirror, bumper plugs, clear sidemarkers, etc.....and an Invidia cat back w/test pipe. I really dont care about audio or I would have probably went for a new headunit as i hear with the 02/03 it makes a big difference?
Thinking about coils but.....i really dont mind the ride height that much and am afraid of scraping since its my DD. I think Honda did pretty well with this car - there are a lot of people i know that have modded their cars to about what mine feels like stock. I am happy with stock........mods just make me happier!

thanks for the info guys... i was thinkin about an aem intake and hks high power exhaust with a test pipe... i kinda want it loud haha and ill prolly get some DC header later on.. i agree with the ride height i dont want to scrape at all but if i drop some springs im afraid that my ride will become terrible, i dont want my car to be bouncy because i heard that honda shocks blow up easily?? is this true?
AEM intake + hks exhaust will give you 0-2 horsepower for your 1000 bucks.
The DC might make you lose power.
Is the car paid off? If not, consider putting it toward your loan principal. If not, I would put the money towards a new set of wheels as the AP1 wheels are a little outdated looking. Either that or a nitrous kit.
If you're dead set on N/A mods - skip the intake as it won't really do anything for the car. Get a T1R 70mm single exhaust and a VAFC2 and get that tuned, all for a grand if you buy stuff used. That will give your car about 20 rwhp more and you'll be able to walk stock S2000s and 350Zs easily.
Or, buy some 4.77 gears from Hardtop guy with an AP1 diff - should be right around 1000 with shipping. This will also make your car much faster and fun to drive.

Why not, save it? you can sleep more comfortably knowing that if something goes wrong, you can actually take care of it.
i also like to put any extra cash towards my principal balance to pay off the car. unless you already hold the title to it.
