Your right, but he didn't ask if he should invest the money in a condo lmao.
People are just giving him options that sound wiser than spending a large sum of money on an exotic car.

you're forgetting the cost of maintaining the car.

Damn, your "problem" is the type of problem I would love to have!
I'm not sure what the 'problem' is, as I don't know what "nice sum of money" is defined as.

After all, based on what I've saved and invested, I may just have the same 'problem' and didn't even know it. Many of us might. (In which case, I'd probably have the same advice as a lot of people here.)

Just sayin'.

im actually glad many of you guys are giving him "good" long-term, looking out for the future, wise investment advises here on a car forum.

im pretty sure other car nuts like us in some other forums would be saying, "get the gt3!", "mod your s2k to 500hp!", blah blah... just simply for the viewers enjoyment of seeing a hooked up s2k or seriously expensive gt3.

so saying that, yes it would be awesome to see another tastefully modded s2k or a gt3 owner here on s2ki..

but the reality is,

you are really better off saving that money or putting it towards something else (unless you are really well off financially...)

either way, good luck with everything and whatever you decide... consider everything and not just yours/our "lust" for our car(s)!!

congrats on getting more $$

I'm not sure I get this - you want to buy a GT3 based on the sound?

If you want a better option why don't you get a Boxster S and an aftermarket exhaust? And go buy a house if you have $85k lying around!

I feel like there's a lot missing in this story. How old are you? What do you do for a living? What amount of money are you mysterious acquiring? Do you own property?

If you're 22, live at home, and are somehow receiving $100k, DO NOT buy a GT3. Save/invest/buy a house. If you won a million dollars, then yes, buy the GT3.

If you're 40, have a good solid career, own a house, and just won $200k lottery, then yes, buy the GT3. Or better yet, an Exige

A 40 year old who needs advice from the internet on how to spend his money most likely does NOT have a solid career, or own a house.

OP's profile says he's 25 years old.

Are you paying off a mortgage? Owning/financing a Porsche while renting your roof is a laughable decision at best. Owning/financing a Porsche while living under mommy and daddy's roof is grounds for an epic flaming thread...
