I believe it was Road and Track that did the 5.2 and 13.8 with the stock s2000.

I can guarantee you that ripping a 5.1-5.4 -60 with an s2k is fairly easy once you become good at doing it.

However, i haven't launched the car since i got my clutch replaced.... about 8 months now

BB,
I liked the Z3 with the largest engine, and liked the feel. But compared to the s2000, it had MUCH more body flex in turns, didn't feel as if it handled as sharply, and just didn't seem as much of a techno marvel. I actually like the look of the car.

Looks are subjective. Different people like different looks. Myself, I actually prefer the look of the BMW Z3 to the S2000 (I just didn't like the look $10,000 more) and I prefer the look of the Z3 and the S2k to the Boxster (just don't like its styling).

I didn't buy my stook to race it. My main concerns were not the power, acceleration, extreme cornering ability, etc. I wanted something peppy that looked great, was comfortable and fun to drive. I test drove several new and used Z3s before buying my stook. As long as you are not pushing the car to the extremes of its ability - as long as you are driving only moderately aggressively, you should not have a problem with the handling of any of these cars. This was my intent - to drive somewhat conservatively. Of course, the stook is trying to change my mind now that I have it!

I liked both the exterior and interior of the Z3 much better than the S2k (love the front end, side gills, and low doors on the Z). I liked the engine/exhaust sound of the 3.0 Z3 better than the S2k's. I greatly prefer the shifter, transmission, and clutch on the S2k. In the end, the deciding factor was $$$. I have no regrets. The S2k has definately grown on me. It looks better, sounds better, drives better, and is increasingly more fun the longer I own it.

German interiors... need I say more ?

Actually I like the location of the shifter on a console similar to interiors of mr2's, supra turbo's. I will not have it any other way.

Also, I find that most boxster owners and z3 owners that live around here don't even know anything about the performance aspect of their cars nor try to actually drive it for witnessing the performance aspects. Instead, I see z3's as posers where I am..

I've seen more automatic z3's and boxsters than most cities.. Now that's pathetic..

I shopped Z3s and TTs before I bought my S2K.
I ruled them both out instantly for 1 reason.
Room.
I didn't fit in either of them.
I'm 6'5" and the roof on the Z3 touched my head way before the windshield when I put it up and in the TT, me legs were too long and I couldn't wedge my right knee between the steering wheel and the center console.
My S2K is tight, but I still feel like I'm getting into the car rather than "strapping it on".

Aside from the fact I don't fit in the other roadsters, I'm VERY happy I bought the S2K if simply for no other reason than where I am, boxters, Zs and TTs are EVERYWHERE.
You can't look at a busy street for 5 minutes without seeing at least 1 on that list go by, and usually piloted seemingly by a just a tuft of blue hair.

This is without even mentioning the performance and handling I love about my Honda.

just my personal $.02

s2000 is a better looking car in my opinion and handles better, engine revs higher, more hp and comparable hp to the M roadster for less $$$ all in all a better car than the Z

I like all BMW's...however given the choice of a s2000 v. M Series Z3 I would still pick the s2000. They are almost identical in #'s, braking, acceleration, skipad, etc. However, the s2000 is a little rarer in these parts, cheaper, from what I hear mostly hand built....I and just love Honda's. Always have had them, probably always will. Although I would love a M5!
