What exactly to do when switching to Synthetic for 1st time?
A mechanic told me when switching for the first time I must first drive for about 50 miles after the change and then change the oil again with a fresh batch of synthetic oil to completely flush out the dino left over. A friend with a Supra told me most Supra owners put half dino and half synthetic to gradually get the engine use to it. I've read many synthetic oil threads and I don't think this subject has been touched upon. Maybe nothing special has to be done at all the first time? Note, my car is MY00 with about 34,200 miles on it. All dino oil thus far...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Still debating on which synthetic to use though... I have read TOO many mixed reviews on all the brands.. Mobil 1, Redline, Royal Purple.. what to do what to do?!

c'mon, it's just oil. It will protect the engine regardless. Just drain the old oil, put a new filter on, and refill with Synthetic and go have fun driving.
As a friend of mine once said, "Shut up and drive yer' car!"
It's JUST oil.

Thanx Chitah,
I'm ready to switch mine to synth now, too. My service light just came on just yesterday. You have great timing!
I don't think its a big deal, but I don't know.
Just wanted to say you're not the only one.
