that's why whenever I park my car someplace that it'll sit for more than an hour, I put my locking car cover on it, which does nicely to disguise the sporty lines of the S. I also set my alarm. and I try to find a place to park it where it will be conspicuous, but still a ways off from other cars, if possible.

but my best defense against having my S vandalized is having a beater car, and making my S only my weekend driving toy.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I realize my "incident" is nothing compared to other acts people have had happen to them. It's just so frustrating!

I went to the dealership today and the replacement emblem is only around $23. I thought it would be a bit more. I'm not sure if I'll go with Rick's, black chrome, or back to stock.

I do have a daily driver, but every now and then I drive my car to work. A car cover seems like a good idea, but I would think that would draw as much or more attention...

While I'm a fan of car covers for overnight stays at motels and such...not so sure I'd bother [myself] with covering just to park for over an hour. But regardless...check your own comment you just made SoDakS2K but turn it around. So if your car is covered, wouldn't you figure that anyone desiring to vandalize your car would be drawing more attention to themselves by having to juggle the car cover to get at your paint, your hood, your emblems, antenna, etc.? Car covers aren't a bad idea.

Also to comment on another's suggestion that pricks that steal emblems might do so just to collect them......why don't they just go to their local Honda dealer and buy one. We now know they can be had for just $23 . Fact is, its vandalism pure and simple. Hell, S2000 aside, we're talking about an "H" badge. Honda. World is polluted with "H" badges on civics as far back as the early 70's. Nope...its nothing more than disrespectful vandalism.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Sounds like you definitely need a "beater" to drive back and forth for work.

Maybe if your lucky, one day you might see one of these Jackass's wearing it around his neck as nackless, then you can strangle the SOB with it

YEP! Went with Ricks from the start and I have more people asking me the car model. It is a conversation starter. Lot of girls/women wonder. Always park under a light & park where there is a camera pointing to your parking place. Park away from everyone else. Saves on dings, bumps, and thefts. Do not drive and park in certain areas of CS. I know it is a hassle but it is our day and age - society has little responsibility. Keep in mind that the stealing is the thrill!!! On the other hand, where else in the world could you drive a car like this without stopping at a red light and having someone with a gun in your face?
