Default What is the function of this part?

What is the purpose of the plastic pieces that hang down in front of the front wheels?

Thanks,
Jerry

I call those things spats. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they help block/redirect air from getting underneath your tires as your speed increases for stabilty purposes.

They're ride height indicators that warn you of a potential scraping issue as your front end approaches a driveway or grade.

I think they're called strakes and they improve aerodynamics.
EDIT: they're not strakes. I'm not sure what they're called.

They are air jacks for changing tires at the track. Don't you have the activation button on the dash?

If they are for "preventing rocks and dirt from flying up", they don't do the job. Maybe Honda should come up with a way to prevent the rock flying from chipping up the front bumper and hood.

That is exactly what they are called and their function. My 04 has them for all four wheels.
