yep high speed stability. i've driven s2000's that never had them on and the car was tricky driving at 80 MPH+.

They are designed to improve the cd of the vehicle, albeit very little.

They would need to be behind the tire if that were the case. These are called front strakes, and as indicated above, they are for aerodynamics at speed. Basically they break up the airflow at the wheel. Just try driving without them and you'll respect those little buggers.

Honda calls ones in front "front strakes." Ones in rear are "rear strakes." Not to be confused with the oft-maligned "side strakes," which are optional.

Correct. They are front strakes designed for directing airflow away from the front tires.
