Default What gets stolen on a s2000

So I just got orders to FT Bliss, TX (which is right next to Mexico) great

Get this I’m standing in line at the px talking about how I'm going to Bliss and a SGT tells me

SGT: "hope you didn’t buy a new car?"

Me: "well I just bought a 04' s2000"

SGT "well, they steal cars a lot down there good luck"

So, I have been doing my research about thefts. And it turns out that the car itself doesn’t get stolen just the stuff in it. Already doing seat locks, wheel locks, going to loctite the antenna, keep the GPS out of the car and clean up the ring the GPS holder makes on the window (so it appears I have no GPS)

What else can I do?

Sounds like you are off to a good start.
I would bribe a security guard of the parking lot to look over it for you.
Bring him a bottle or a carton of smokes every now and then.

A hardtop is another layer of security, but also another reason to steal the car.

honestly, your best bet is a good insurance policy.

A hardtop won't help anything. Locally a guy had his top stolen along with the seats and just about everything else on the car. Get insurance try and garage it and park it where you feel comfortable leaving it. After that not a whole lot you can do.

Off to a good start, make sure your insurance policy is up to date and would cover any and all aspects and just be attentive as you can.

Good luck!!
