What happened to rstarks's thread seeking input? (aka dirty laundry)
Rstark had a thread asking for input on what members would like to see from the club. Did it get pulled? Or, am I just looking in the wrong places?
The thread appears to have disappeared. That discussion, though, continues here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=42261
Guys, I pulled the thread even though there were some great ideas in there especially about the MG club. That sounded like a good plan. My hopes and enthusiasm for car clubs in general dropped to an all time low especially with all the negative comments coming out about the S2KCA. You may continue it if you want, but I'm just really tired of this whole thing.
Why the hell did you ask the question? Removing that thread, and perhaps posting it in the first place, was a stupid thing to do. I'm not going to mince words about it. My respect for you has similarly dropped to an all-time low. Opening such a can of worms without following through was lame. You may have started it but IMO it wasn't yours to end.
I'm just a bit more than pissed off that a well researched post that I took an hour to write was deleted because someone was either bored with the topic, didn't like the way it turned out or didn't have the balls to carry it to the goal line. I will not appologize as this is exactly how I feel. Your explaination for its removal is just as discourtious as the act which preceeded it.

My professionalism and your being an ass for asking a question and then deleting the work of many who answered it have nothing to do with eachother. I am, above all else, an owner with a personal stake in club operations and formation. If you think I'm not going to say what I think just because I do the backups each night you are also a moron.

Damn! There were some really good ideas floating around in that thread!
I'm going to post my comments here anyway...
I think cthree's ideas about local clubs and a national association of those local clubs makes a lot of sense, but probably only if we were starting from scratch and had a few years before we wanted/expected to see a national event.
I think some of the 'issues' with the S2KCA are due to the founders' ambition and accelerated timetable. I think they've done an impressive job to get where they are now in such a short time. On the other hand, they have some communication problems to address: setting expectations, learning to under-promise and over-deliver, and in general communicate much more, more often would help a lot.
I think the big hurdle to overcome is what the relationship will be between local clubs where a lot of the day-to-day good personal interaction will go on, and the national club, and what their respective roles will be.
