Arrow what is happening to s2ki?

I don't know if it is just me but, I used to frequent this site alot because I felt it was very informative and the people here were respectful. However as time went on I spent less and less time here and everytime I come back to browse I find myself thinking why are there so many disrespectful pricks that treat there cars like crap and others on here like crap aswell? Is it that the car is becoming more affordable to younger people? I got my S when I was 17 and I didn't act high and mighty. I came to this site for the great wealth of knowledge that was presented by the likes of XViper and others. Aswell as the friendly/ mature atmosphere that many of other car websites run by little immature kids couldn't offer. I am afraid that this community is heading in the direction of the typical tuner sites. Anyone else feel this way?

Agreed. There seems to be a lot of polls and such going on. None of those are very informative or interesting.

I think it's a worrying trend although to be fair s2ki has done a better job of moderating between members than other sites...

As the S becomes more affordable to the masses it's inevitable that ownership demographics will change and conflicts occur. Eventually the S will become the equivalent of a 240sx or any other reasonably powered RWD import car, by which time many of the original owners and forum contributors will have moved on (as Xviper did). Moderation can only delay the inevitable for so long but enjoy the site while you can. FWIW I still honestly believe this is one of the most well run forums i've been on.

Its been heading this direction for the past few years for all the reasons mentioned above. Makes me sick to my stomach.

There is an upshot though.... if you look, this year has had the most "I wrecked" threads ever. Darwin is with us and hopefully will be able to keep the idiot population down by them destroying thier cars while simultaniously increasing the value of our cars.

Yeah ... there's a lot of fluff, bad information and things that are disgusting but, thanks to the site moderators, it's still a much better site than most of them. People who feel they have to lace their posts with foul language are just showing their immaturity and lack of propriety.

And after a while you'll come up with a list of a handful of people whose opinions you trust and you like to interact with. I, for one, will be sticking around.

All very good points...

One thing I'm hoping to improve on is the reduction of repetitive threads. I think the improvement of the search feature will help (because lets be honest, the old search engine sucked )

Less stupid questions always helps
