I'm new but I agree, too much noise, not enough substance...

Its been heading this direction for the past few years for all the reasons mentioned above. Makes me sick to my stomach.

There is an upshot though.... if you look, this year has had the most "I wrecked" threads ever. Darwin is with us and hopefully will be able to keep the idiot population down by them destroying thier cars while simultaniously increasing the value of our cars.

This is what I belive it is.

The S2000 has been around for like 9 years now and it hasn't really changed much. If you read other forums... most of their discussion is based around new information, new offerings, model trims, OEM power changes, etc.

Honda hasn't given us anything new to discuss in almost a decade. There's only so much we can discuss about SC, turbos, and exhausts before there's a search for everything.

And if we even bring up a new S2000 model, it gets dumped into one thread.

I used to own an M3 and they have so many discussions on their forums about the new ones, the old ones, the differences, the changes, etc. We don't really have that option here. All we have is AP2 > AP1.

Fine fine... I get your point. No need to beat a dead horse. One thread is enough.

By the way, what performance upgrade should I get for $19.99?

I think it's a reflection on our society and value / judgement balance where someone will spend $2000 on wheels and wreck because they didn't have enough money for fresh tires.

I'm glad the mods and the veteran crew maintain a certain level of distain for all things ricer. Even in the Street Encounters forum, flagrant stupidity isn't tolerated.

Props to the powers that be.

This place is still the #1 repository for s2k information, so it's ok. The dedicated ones will more than likely stick around to support this great vehicle.

well i dont think its because of the age of the drivers.... ive seen disrespectful pricks of all ages lol... but yeah your right about this...

Its happening on all forums... thank god this forum does have a "kill section"... when i was on the ls1gto.com forum... every little prick wanted to post his drag races on the street... (i think racing on the streets is stupid)....

But yeah there isnt much to talk about ont he forums nemore because whenever someone posts a new thread the replies are "go search" and thats all

I've been on these forums for a couple of years now . . . only owned an S2k for about a month of that. But the information I gained about the car was incredible.

As for the petty, childish actions of more and more people on here. Well, it's the internet. People are going to act like dicks sometimes because they're behind a screen. And that is what forum rules and moderators are for.

The only other major forum I'm a part of is newtiburon.com. That is a forum that has really gone to shit. That car is now much more affordable than an S2k, so not only do you get younger and younger people, you get cheaper and cheaper people who lowball every FS thread. They have no beneficial mechanical knowledge about the car, and just post whore it up.

Most of the mechanically inclined have left, or created different Tiburon forums for themselves. Even major site sponsors, and a couple of the biggest tuning houses for Hyundai left the forum because of this. And it doesn't help that the jobs for mods and admins became a popularity contest, and whoever kissed the most ass got the job, not those who would act in the best interest of the forum.

Anywhoo . . . as bad as this place may be, it could be a hell of a lot worse
