I like the look of the Veilside cover, but it can't be folded so in case of sudden rain we would be screwed. Make something like the Veilside cover, fiberglass I think, that can be folded and thrown in the trunk or window well and I'll be happy to buy.

I think the car looks better without that bulbous cover on.

Ever since I got the car in Nov '99, I use the top cover once. IMO, it looks more aggressive w/o it and it is more convenient to put up/down the top whenever you like but then it does look better with the top cover but it is definitely an inconvenience to install and take it out everytime unless you will be driving a long period of time with top down. BTW, I'm not sure why would you be embarrassed if you don't have your top cover and pull up next to a Boxter?

Luder,

BMW has a 2 piece cover for the Z3. Dunno if you've seen it, but I'll dig up the brochure I have and post a pic tomorrow...

$695 suggested retail... a bit steep, and a poor looking cover in my opinion...

I'd think we could do better in the fit department... and the price department

Basically because the Honda roof laying in its well looks crude and unsophisticated compared with the smooth clean look of the Boxster. I hate the looks of the Boxster but that roof mechanism is the one feature I really admire - the Honda version is C&N.

With regard to taking it on /off all the time the only time I have had to do that in the last 83 day is when I wash the car (even then I often wash it with the roof down and the tonneau on).

BTW it did rain today today here in Melbourne - I had to drive for 10 minutes to the nearest shopping mall and basically had no problems staying dry except for 1 minute sitting at the lights - it was only light rain, however, and the interior was dry again by the time I parked the car under cover.

I'm sorry guys, but Honda should have taken a page out of the MX-5 book on this issue. The Miata top is lighter (not power), it is so easy to use, it has a glass window with defroster (even though its small), and the boot is simple, light, and very easy to use as well. For power options they should have looked at the Porsche, it is beyond beautiful, and is decently light. Still, I'm of a purist mind and wish they would have left it manual.
If there ever becomes available a decent top boot it will be an instant classic like Ricks console cover.
