Default What kind of brakes?

Hey everyone
Im looking to purchase a set of new brakes for a MY 04, im looking for performance stuff because i autocross road race and run at the drag strip 3 times a month, so anything that is going to give me performance with no fade. I priced out brembo and they were insanely expensive plus id have to change my rims and tires to get them to fit so im also looking to keep my stock rims and tires. Thanks for the info

i would personally just change the pads on the car...but the stock brake on an s2000 are one of the best oem out....the reason ive changed mine was wear and tear after 40k miles.....

Yes, unless you are racing the stock system is very good.

These guys make some very well engineered brake systems - they do not have bling-bling name, but the technology is solid: www.stoptech.com

Also, Willwood, Baer, etc. may be good sources. Try some of the vendors who support this site as well.

Honda pretty much made these S's to race right out of the box. There's not much to change as the oem is pretty good.

The S2k has an inexpensive single-piston floating caliper at each wheel. For a car this weight/power, a pure racing setup or high end street setup would use a 4 piston non-floating caliper in front and either a 4-piston or 2-piston non-floating caliper in back. Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, etc., that is what you get. Supra TT also. MB and some Volvo on the front too.

Now, that said, very few people can tell the difference of a system based on the caliper. Especially when the rotors are straight and thick enough to be dimensionally stable. Other factors

Check this forum to see what the fast S2000 guys are running. Do a search BTW since this has been talked to death already.
