I was told by a former s2000 mechanic that Toda makes one of the best headers available for the S. I know it might be a little pricy but that is what I plan on getting.

Here's some links for Toda.

And as far as i have read from other people, headers don't add any significant ppower on a stock motor. They have more capability to add power when combined with an exhaust system, test pipe, and a decent intake.

I'm new to the S2000 scene, only had it for 2 months, but I hope this helps. Also I will try to post some write ups on Rick's header which is said to perform like mugen for around $725.

This Groupbuy is closed but I'm sure you can find the header in the For Sale section every once in a while or but it outright from the company.

The OEM header works very, very well. To replace it with anything else is only to save weight and "perhaps" gain a bit in throttle response. To spend a grand for something like a Toda (which won't even honour their warranty for defective product) only to save weight seems ludicrous. I know. I have one.
Also, I'm supercharged and I'm not even sure this thing gives me anything. If I had my choice all over again, it would be Rick's. Much less money to do the same thing, plus it allows the use of the stock heat shields. And Rick will stand by his products.
One big advantage with having a Toda header? I can brag to all my S2000 buddies that "I HAVE A TODA HEADER!" (I just hope they never ask just how much I paid for that thing.)

The best header is one that has a turbocharger bolted to it.

The best header you can get is J's Racing but it seems that it will not fit in your budget. We dynoed it 10whp over Mugen header.

I want the J's badly, but I'm with the original poster in budget. I really hope a used one pops up because I have dibs on it

I'm leaning towards the Spoon or Comptech for top end NA gains. I don't mind not gaining/losing in the mid-range. When I'm at an HPDE I shouldn't be out of VTEC anyways so I don't mind.
