I've always used Castrol, or castrol synthetic, however people have been telling me that mobile 1, or mobile 1 synthetic is wayyyyyy better. What are everybodys thoughts on this.

I started using Royal Purple 21 Racing Oil at 9,000 miles. Mobil 1 is also great, Redline has good products also, Honda's Gold Premium synthetic was recommended by my Dealership, but they couldn't tell me who manufactures it for Honda - Main thing is to choose a quality oil & change regularly to maintain 9000 rpm protection.

I've used Castrol GTX or Syntech in every car I've own without any problems. Everyone will argue that what they use is best. I like Syntech because KMart and Walmart have it in 5 quart jugs. Can't go wrong with any high quality brand, but make sure you use the correct weight for your driving conditions.

From time to time you can find Mobil 1 in 5 quart jugs at Wal Mart for around $16. When they have some of these puppies in stock I usually buy all they have which usually isn't much. I personally don't make a trip to Wal Mart without checking the automotive department for wholesale Mobil 1!

Mobil 1 comes in many different grades. I can get 5W-50, 0W-40 and 10W-30 here in Oz. The 10W-30 is OEM in GenIII Chevs (at least it is here), so should be easy to get in the US.

XaznX,

I use Castrol Sythetic, but this time around I tried Mobile Synthetic...I can't tell the difference.

Why don't you open a poll bud?
