How much longer does synthetic last than dino, and does the Maintenance Minder take that into consideration?
Longer. How much longer? Depends on your environment and driving conditions. Best to go by an oil analysis. No the maintenance minder does not know what kind of oil is in the car. It is assuming 10W-30 dino oil.

I would have to disagree with the filter statement. I believe the filter does matter especially with our cars. Alot recommend the OEM Honda filter for the S2K because there has been many incidences that aftermarket filters tend to fall/fly off or some other issue.

yeah a lot of people recommend honda's pcx filter made by filtech. its a good filter, but its not by far the best out there. i've heard very good things about hamp filters. just dont use fram what ever you do. haha.

and also i've heard that some of the people that use an oversized filter..only name i can remember right now is the mobil 1 m1-105..had issues with it coming loose. but only very few people had trouble.

the mobil 1 m1-104 is the oe size replacement filter for our cars, and a lot of people also recommend that as well. i use it and never had any problems.

its just whatever makes it easier for you to sleep at night.
