Default What is the point of this?

BMW M roadsters/coupes have tons of problems with their rear subframes tearing themselves apart. A friend of mine sent this to me and told me "There is a reason why this http://www.junauto.co.jp/products/reinforc...rame/index.html is made for S2000s."

Is there really a reason or is he just being a dickbag?

Never heard of any subframe issues on S2000.

In fact the ever popular lower rear cross brace mods are in my mind more for bling than anything else, as the OEM brace is structurally fine, just not real attractive.

I have been around the track many times in an M Roadster, and you are right, they clearly have rear suspension issues, the flex or the feeling it gives as the suspension sort of takes a set, then moves out a bit and does take a set can be most unnerving. And of course, interestingly enough the same year car in the M Coupe version has none of these disturbing issues.

Oh, and BTW, I have 44 track days and untold autox events on my S, and my car feels very rigid, and it holds an alignment wonderfully.

I'd like to hear from someone who has the JUN subframe.

But yeah, no reports of frame issues on the S that I know of.
