For me, I bought Doc Hollywood for $9.99 and couldn't stop playing back the beginning where Michael J Fox drove a 56 Porsche Speedster. I knew that I couldn't NOT get the S2000.

After a test drive, I knew that I just could not resist not getting a Honda S2000! I even traded in my 2002 SVT Lightning for it! Now, I literally can't wait till it arrives at the dealership from Japan so I can go pick it up!

My younger sister's base model 1990 Mariner Blue Miata.

I went with my parents when they bought this car for her as a surprise. (Just so nobody starts some stupid crap about parents buying cars for kids - my sister paid my parents back 100% for the car). I drove the car home from the dealership that night and was immediately in love. My first roadster experience and I just couldn't stop grinning. For years I kept trying to find reasons to justify the expense of buying a Miata.

She kept that little bugger for nearly 12 years and more than 150K trouble free miles. It was a great little car and led to my purchase of a 1996 Miata with popular equipment package.

And the love story continues...

My love for convertibles comes directly from my dad. It was rekindled with the advent of the Miata, though I had a Fiat Spider in the mid/late '80s which kept the flame burning 'till the Miata bowed.

We are in the absolute heyday of the roadster right now. Revel and drive.

Where there's a whim, there's a way...

A whim-a-way, a whim-a-way.... (Lion Sleeps Tonight )

My dad had a Triumph Spitfire and a TR6 when I was very young. I guess it was instilled at a young age.
