Started in 1970 when I purchased a 1960 Austin-Healey "Bugeye" Sprite. Continued thru various Fiats, Alfa's, Porsches etc.

ralper & Chazmo,

I can't resist saying that to own one of each is the best of both worlds. When the wife and I got back from a 1400 mile trouble free trip to VA a month ago in the MGA (one of many around the US), we each patted her, blew her a kiss, and thank her. There is a sense of adventure and accomplishment that comes with vintage travel. We crank along at about 75 mph; so there's no babying it. Refilling the oil and continual tinkering does pay dividends. True, there's no comparison to VETC'ing the S or its race car feel. I want to do it every gear every time. Yes, they both have their place -- I'm glad I don't have to choose.

Very well put. I love my S and I still have a warm spot in my heart for the MGB and TD that I owned. My hat is off to those of you who have been able to keep the breed alive.

Thanks ralper, as a former MG'er you know the commordarie that goes with 'em - - that's why this one's been a part of the family for 30 years! OMG, can it be. I sense that same thing is happening in many areas of the US for the S2000 as well. Hey, instant classic's will do that.

The commraderie that I feel on these forums does remind me of the feeling among us MG owners in the past. This is nice. I'm happy to be part of it.

PGM-FI + VTEC + Zaino + Internet = 21st century bliss!

Excellent posts, guys! A serious

Personally, I've always had a hankering for a '60s-era Jag E-Type... I've never had the courage (or trunk-mounted mechanic ) to actually buy one, though. I do admire you guys who have the patience to live with these temperamental beauties. 30 years with an MG, dlq!??? That is amazing!

Rock on!
