What revs do you guys shift at?

haha i was trying to search for it all day and finally gave up and just posted it. but thanks for the info 3.5-4k it is! I basically do all city driving, all stop and go if it helps.

oh and GG for the rx8 picture LMFAO when talking about mpg you bring out a rx8 haha!

if you want to still shift at 3k and get better gas mileage city, then don't hit the throttle down too much. since you're at low rpm the car won't accelerate too quickly, you can compensate by hitting the throttle more to get faster but then you'll pump a crap ton more fuel in and get worse mpg. keep your foot light

i shift at 3k in the city and get 27 mpg and 31 highway

SHift between 3 and 3.5... I tried switching to shifting around 4 and over the course of about 4 tanks I realized that my MPG went down about 3mpg's compared to shifting at 3-3.5

As stated earlier in the thread -- look into other causes as well. I shift at least at 3K and typically get ~20 city, ~30 highway. There are a number of factors that will affect fuel economy (as with any car).

I shift at 4,000 rpms almost in every gear. I get 25-26 mpg winter and 28 summer with 31-34 mpg highway in the summer!
