5'9'' with a 6'2'' passenger on a trip to Switzerland and back (1500 miles). It does help to stretch out a bit every now and then, but it's rather comfortable.

The best section was the last section, a midnight run from Luzern to Cologne, averaging about 135mph with very little traffic. 7000 rpms in 6th for hours is actually quite a lot of fun! Fuel economy wasn't too bad either, as traffic was light enough to stay at that speed most of the way. Open Autobahn speeds also helps keep one awake.

In late August, I took my S2000 to the Four Corners area and back. I logged over 3000 miles in one week. I am 6'2" and 180 lbs. It was miserable. There is nothing worse than being in the middle of Kansas, right leg is cramped up beyond pain, and driving through a horrible rain storm attempting to drive at highway speeds on SO2s. From Kansas City to my home town (130 miles), I could not drive any faster than 40 mph. My girlfriend was in the passenger seat and was quite scared at some points. Whenever a semi would pass, it would displace enough water to douge the car. I would strongly recommend against using this car for a 3000 mile one week road trip.

I fit perfectly but my twist is my passengers complain that the S2000 is less comfortable than my RX7. Mainly b/c you can recline the seat in the RX7 on long road trips and more leg room. I feel the S2000 driver seat is more comfortable, but the RX7's seat makes me feel ready to put the pedal on the floor

dbletap_ed,

I live near San Francisco and drive to Los Angeles (~400 miles) and Las Vegas (~550 miles) with some frequency. The S2000 does fine on these semi-long trips. The only possible concerns I can see are that the ride is somewhat stiff, and the engine cruises at high RPMs with a droning sound...these don't bother me, but I can see how they might irritate others who are used to more quiet, plush cars. I would not necessarily call the S2000 a comfortable car on long trips, but it certain isn't all that terrible, either. Keep in mind, however, that at 5'9" and 125 lbs., I'm not exactly a very big person.

Can someone comment on the noise on your road trips? Droning and annoying after a while?

Thanks!

It really just depends on you. Most people already stated clearly what it's like and how it is comfortable to them. But everyone has very different opinions. To me, the car is comfortable... But I have an astounding infatuation for this vehicle, so I just love being in it. But it by NO means can be comparable to a ride of any luxury vehicle. All depends on you...

I drove my Berlina S2K for 10 days across the country. Starting in LA down to Mexico through the US to Upstate New York (near Canada) and then finally back home to Virginia. 80% of that was with the top down. I figured if I was going I was doing it in style.

There are definately goods and bads. The goods:

1 - Handles awesome!
2 - Decent power!
3 - It is a real head turner at every stop!
4 - Seats were comfortable for most of the trip but a little more recline would have been nice for such a long haul.

The bads:

1 - Wind noise sucks after about 3 hours.
2 - The S2K as we all know is very mechanically loud. The hum really gets to you after a while.
3 - The wind buffeter between the seats is a piece of crap. I need to get a different one or build my own.
4 - The tranny puts out major amounts of heat at the e-brake and the passenger foot well. In Denver at 1AM with the top down I had to have the air conditioning on to keep the passenger from sweating.

I don't think the Honda engineers designed this car as a cross country tourer but I had a great time when the fall colors were at their peak. Would I recommend doing it... Yes. Would I do it a second time... No.
