Default What is the s2000 shell made out of?

I recently had the skin replaced on my driver side door and I notice my door feels a little heavier. It could be tightened more but when I tap the driver side door, it sounds diff than the passenger side door.

Do you think they used something diff to replace the skin on the driver side door??

Has anyone have their skin replaced and noticed this?

Thanks

i thought we had aluminum bodies. check to see if the door you got is oem. non-oem products may use different material.

It would have been a lot lighter if it was fiberglass.

The hood is the only stock body panel that is aluminum on the S2000.

If it sounds different, perhaps they used body filler on a damaged door?

I would expect a reskinned door to potentially sound different. And to have had it been tightened differently from the passenger.
