I've been asking the same thing over the past week. Not too many responses, the Compustar I've heard of, but its not an option for me, since I want it professionaly installed and places around me will only install alarms purchased from them.

I decided to go with a VIPER, since it is sold by a high-end shop (Myer-Emco) and based off of the same DEI tech that Clifford is.

I'm upgrading the viper with:

Backup battery
Piezo Alarm (interior)
Radar/Proximity Sensor

I hate thieves!

You must have one of those Snow Snakes in there xviper.

My cars protected by a remote alarm with all the goodies including remote notification. From there it's protected by Samuel Colt

i'm running a clifford matrix 2.5x with a motion sensor (DEI ... umm ... some number ).

i went with the 2.5 since there's no autostart, an option i would never want in a stick. forget to put it in neutral? well, you just gave the garage wall a nice buff shine with your bumper. although the clifford doesn't have the range of the compustar, i liked the look of the remote better. yeah. it's always the small things, isn't it?

and the motion sensor was so i could leave the top down if i had to do something like pop in the grocery store and grab something rq.

the install for the 2.5x was $399. add in tax and the motion sensor and labor, and it came to $505.50.

out of those two choices I'd say Compustar as well , coupled with a Satellite Tracking device.

One of these moons I may get both..

I'm currently trying to find one that will will handle perimeter areas more effectively. For things like vandalism.
