Default What should a clutch and flywheel install cost?

here is my issue

i am buying a HTG clutch/flywheel setup and need to have it installed at a shop

I went to the two local speed shops in my area to get quotes.

shop A quoted me about $350 for labor

shop B quoted me $700 for labor

can someone tell me what this job SHOULD cost? i don't want to over pay, but I do not want a half-assed job done.

thanks, the owner of shop A looked up the expected labor time on a program he has, i believe called AllData, in order to get the quote. shop B however just said "well, the last one we did (a boosted one) took us x hours, so i'll do the job for 700"

i don't believe shop A has ever done a clutch/flywheel on an S2000, but they do have a lot of experience with an AP1 that they have done a ZEX setup on.

anyone else?

A master tech at a dealer did a tranny swap for me on my ctsc ap1 for $500. He did it by himself in less than 3 hours.

is shopA legit?

i had a shop do my clutch, flywheel before. turned out to be the worst idea ever. picked them cuz it was cheap...clutch started slipping after 3 months. had to redo it myself, turned out much better.

It simply takes too many hours to do the job right... best case six to eight hours in most cases. (takes me over 10 in my garage).

$500 to $800 in most shops.

I just did mine a few weeks ago. It came out to $700.
The shop I did it at has done lots of S2000s and were recommended by other s2ki members.

I'm sure price fluctuates depending on the area but that seems to be the going rate for an S2000 where I live.

around ~500 in my Lehigh Valley. I believe the job is rated for 4-6 hours * 80-100/hour.
