What should have been a standard feature for the S2000?

Some have mentioned AC Seats. Living in a hot climate with leather seats leaves a sweaty driver and passenger. Cooled seats in the Summer and heated seats in the winter would be great.

exactly. any "standard" features that could have been added, would have increased curb weight and pussified the car we all love. it would have made it more luxurious, when we don't want luxury. that's what a z3 or z4 is for.

If anything, i wish honda offered a delete package.

+1, I love the car for what it is.

Soft top, ac and radio should have been options (as in the CR), it really doesn't fit to the car and removing it is a pain.

Ah, and height regulation for the steering wheel.

I have to say from owning an '08 CR for 3.5 years and using it as my everyday car year round (plus Auto-X and a handful of track days), and then selling it for an '01 S2k, I'm really not missing much.

I like the AP1 cup holder better than the AP2 since it actually holds my large DD coffee when I'm driving to work. Granted it would be nice if it wasn't in the way of actually driving the car. All the little things were nice (temp/clock in the cluster, more pockets, fancy alcantara seats, that super cool shift light, VSA (which was always off even in winter), blah blah blah), but not having all those extra little bits is fine. I absolutely LOVE having a soft top and not being a meteorologist in determining if I can leave the hard top at home. Having leather seats makes me not worry if I get a drip of water on them or the door panels for that matter.

I'm in the car to drive it. I'm not a chauffer. I don't care if you aren't comfortable in my low car. Yes, you will hold your own drink, or better yet, no drinks allowed in my car. It's just a drivers car through and through and really doesn't need much else. Maybe that's why I honestly like my '01 Spa AP1 that I bought for almost 1/3 of the price that I paid for the CR new. The "rawness" just helps you focus on driving the car & not all the little luxuries.

All that being said, I did install an aftermarket stereo with bluetooth/iPhone/AUX hookup and new door speakers. Honda radios always seem to be pretty crappy...

They cut out glare for night driving and give the car zero blind spots. It's a standard feature on a lot of cars sold in Europe. Have you ever tried them?

Even with 4.10s, I think the trans gearing is too high in the lower gears and then once in 6th I have too many revs. I've never hit 9k rpm in 3rd gear. Basically right at the 2-3 shift your at 65-70 mph. I don't care if an extra gear change slows me down a tenth or two to 60 mph, I would consider the extra gear rowing fun.

I'd like to have 4.77s but I do too much highway driving and don't want the extra revs in 6th. Whether it be transmission gear ratio changes, secondary reduction changes, or ring and pinion changes, I don't mind. I'd like to have a sort of "5+1" configuration, where the "+1" is a super tall 6th gear for all of my interstate driving.
Why not a seventh gear?

While we're at it, 2 more doors, back seats, 4" lift kit, ashtray, reverse camera, navi system, hill holder transmission, side/curtain airbags.

Seriously, nothing.. the car is perfect as it is. Yes even coming in at 6'4".. well except for a taller roll bars.
