Default What should I be able to buy a 2005 for?

I have been thinking about purchasing a new S and was wondering if anyone would want to share their recent purchase cost or share any relevant pricing info.

I'm in NorCal I would be willing to travel if needed- prefer CA, TX, or IL as purchase locations...

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Kevin

PS if someone has a clean 2004 or 2005, in black or NFR you can e-mail me.

I am picking up my '05 New Formula Red s2000 at 11 a.m. tomorrow. (North-Central Florida). I was looking to pay 32,250 out the door. (6% tax, NEW tag, and title included).

A few local dealers turned me down, so I e-mailed several dealers with 150 miles and one came through.

So, I'll drive 110 miles to save $750 (the lowest my local dealer would go was 33,000.00 OTD.

The 2006 warranty would have been nice. Wheels are similar.... but, I like '05 better. Steering wheel -no big diff. Like the '05 seats better. As for the 4 speaker roll bar? I have a killer PPI/JLAudio sound system that will make me tend to forget about the stock radio.

I don't want to sound like a jerk....but, I am just excited.
Gonna be hard to get some sleep. tonight.

Thanks to this site I have learned alot from y'all. I still can't believe the right rear bumper/rear quarter panel/tail light misalignment that so many new cars at the dealers have.

thraak - I'm guessing you'll get the 2-3 hours of sleep that most of us here got. Don't be ashamed to admit your "it's 2AM and I can't fall asleep, where are the keys?" post-midnight runs after you get the S!

This weekend I bought an S2000 in Gardena, California. We shopped the offers of different dealerships, haggling with them. We're on lease so the absolute price isn't crystal clear but it's definately below $33,000.

By haggling at different dealerships and asking them to beat their competetor's offers, we were able to nick about $700 off the driveaway payment of the lease (from $3700 to $3000) and got wheel locks for free.

They said there was a national deal going on where honda was leasing cars on 36 month deals where the absolute cash buy value would be $30,000. So I would expect that you could haggle off at least $1000 and possibly get wheel locks thrown in for free (or whatever other detachable accessory you would consider)

BorisB,
One dealer told me that if I leased the car, they would give it to me for 29,300 (plus dealer fee, tax, tag and title). I was paying cash, so he told me that he could not sell me the car for 29,300. He told me what I could do was to lease it and then buyout the lease for 29,300 (plus dealer fee, tax tag title), the following day.

After the Internet Mgr. and Sales Mgr. debated for awhile, they returned and said that this could be done.

After further investigation, I found that there was an extra fee of 4000.00 if I had went along and did it this way.

My 32,250 out the door seems quite good now.

Later,
Thraak

You can get a brand new MY05 S at San Leandro about 10% below MSRP.

Cheers,

Good luck in NoCal...

I just got mine here in Dallas for 29.7+ttl. When I was in Santa Cruz/San Jose/Berkeley on business, I stopped in at four dealerships who I had to haggle to even get the mark up taken off or get them to go below MSRP.

Good luck and enjoy!
