Once again, test drive. If you're on the fence after that consider the differences. The AP1's aren't "faster" than the AP2's. However, the 06 will have a rear glass window with defroster, VSA and I don't know what else... Do your homework.

i'm thinking there's a pretty significant price difference. Is the 06 worth the additional $7k or whatever?

OP,

Yes there is a significant price difference, but like others said, older cars means older parts which are more likely to have problems than that of new parts. If you test drive both, and like them equally, and money isn't a issue, then get the 06. Younger parts should last you longer.

If you're going to heavily mod it, save your cash and get the older one. If you're going to keep it stock, get the 06.

When buying used...always buy the newest lowest milage best condition car in you can afford.

thanks guys i ended up with the 2000 it was in perfect condition and was kept in the garage for the most part. the 06 had some sun damage on the seats and soft top. plus it was 4 grand more both cars were great deals

i'd personally go with the 06 i like the bigger bulkier car. the ap1's are a tad too small for me and also the 06 is likely to still be in warranty and less likely to have wear and tear issues. also, you have the added VSA feature that helps during crappy weather
