Ehh... You won't lose any power unless its a 90 degree plus day. You would only lose power if you start sucking in hot air. Besides, you lose power from heat soak with the stock box either way. And you won't notice it either, despite what you "think" you feel.

And I'd keep my stock filter as it does a great job filtering. Unless you are great about maintaing a K and N etc... You will be sucking in a lot of crap into your engine.
I love how you just keep spitting out false info.

no doubt. DO NOT TAKE THE LID OFF YOUR AIR BOX. 7whp loss, dyno proven. kn filter is a great filter, never had any problems with it and it make .23 rwhp.

test pipe causes loss of power! my 100 bucks got me 5rwhp. get a test pipe, money well spent.

give your 100 to a friend heading to vegas.

have him or her go to a roulette table and put the money on black.

let it ride 6x and take your winnings and buy an s/c

or yeah, get a countersunk

I love how you want to spend $75+ on a filter that will gain you .23 whp. Go take on 911's now.

As for the mild power loss. Yea there is some. But not really to the point that you will actually notice it. And it was also just a suggestion for someone who is looking for a $100 MOD. Instead of dropping $75 for a useless filter that MIGHT gain you a wopping less than a 1/4 of a hp. Take off your cover, drive around, makes some noise, and when you've finished, put it back on. If he's going that route, he should at least find a used AEM intake. I'm not just spitting out false info here. Like I stated, you WILL lose power either way, when it comes to heat soak, so what's the point of spending money on something that gains nothing. If all he wants is sound then there are better suggestions.

If someone is trying to make any power with $100 mod, then by all means. But the airbox was just a suggestion in terms of a "save your money and make the sound anyways." If he really wants power than he should save it for a full fledged intake system.

And do a search. Honda makes a great filter as is. I'd much rather buy a new one every 10k miles, than clean one that may or may not be clean, after you've used it for xx miles, for something that may or may not net you anything. If you wanted power. You would have bought an intake.
