I have found that invoice is $30, 155 for the S, is that the true price which the dealer pays?

I'd rather doubt that. Seems kinda high seeing as most dealers are selling for around the 30k mark. New 04s are down to around 29k already.

The invoice for an S2000 is $29,640, this can be found on Edmunds.com.

The information on edmunds is correct.. i work in the internet department for the largest dealership in the virginia beach area.

However, you must remember that dealers also have to add in shop charges, detail, gas, and things of that nature, our dealership it costs about $230'ish for all those things.

I'd tell them that its the end of the year and you know the want to move units, no need for them to have this 04' sitting on there lot any longer. you will take it off there hands for $28.7 -$29k

Remember, a civic is one thing... but a dealer is not going to loose $1500+ to move an S2000, he'd rather have it sit on his lot.

It depends on what MY you're talking about. New '04's will have the same dealer price as the '05's, but there are most definetly holdbacks for the dealer on the '04. I got my '03 at the end of last year for invoice minus the $1,800 dealer holdback (basically a bonus the dealer gets back at the end of the year for selling the leftover car). So, the actual invoice price is whatever the sheet price is, minus any dealer incentives. The best way to check this (and I can't belive I'm saying this) is to go to Consumer Reports and pay the $12 to get the real lowdown on how much the car costs. I did, and it saved me almost 2 large!!
