People are having to give them away now, in 10 years we likely will have to pay someone to take the car off our hands.

Kinda sad.
I wouldn't mind someone giving me another one

Most new cars are already rust proofed from factory. I drove my S every winter, never rust proofed it myself, and it was completely fine by the time I sold it.

I wouldn't worry if I were you.

Just my opinion...

True!! haha! It just feels this car is not holding value like it should. Will this car be a collectors item? I am not sure, but one could hope the cars in good shape will retain their value better than the supped up hard driven high mileage one's.

The real blame should go to Honda for the miss information of limited production of 5000 units.

Eventhough the S is not the "limited production" that Honda claimed in the beginning, the car is not produced in masses like other cars of its class. Many people still have never heard of an S2000 and compliment the car still today. In the future, say 10 to 20 years, if the car is still desirable, the value of a restored or low mileage one will hold their value. Look at the Mustang. Ford sold millions of the first model in the 60's. To get a nicely restored one costs a good amount of $.

^^ Agreed. In Beverly Hills where i work, all the millionaires driving ferraris and lambos ALWAYS compliment on how amazing it looks and asks what country this honda was imported from. You'd be surprised at how not very many people know about the s even after 7 years of production.

As far as the salt, thats going to be a major issue later down the road if you don't get the underside cleaned very well. My father bought a 65 MBZ SL230 in 66. Drove it in Montana, an 20 years later....a lovely hole in the floor and frame due to the salt decades before.
milage doesnt matter on these cars. U'r paying for the year and the condition of it.
