What Was or Will Be, your First S2K Mod ... ?
I was lucky enough to purchase a tastefully modded low mileage near mint condition ap1 that already had coilovers, authentic bbs lm's, and an intake snorkel in 2010. First aftermarket part I bought for the S was this past september; a slightly used greddy dual tic exhaust.
I believe that maintenance is common knowledge on all cars in all ages. I don't consider doing maintenance a "mod". Maybe it's different for some but a modification to me is just that. You are modifying a part from factory spec.
In that sense, mine were tires and sound system.

Dunlop ZII tires in factory sizes. Last owner has the worst "fuzion" tires on it. They felt like almost like hard plastic and performed as if they were. An s2000 without sticky tires is worthless.
2nd/3rd mod was Ricks floormats and clear side markers.

Yeah, swapping fluids and things is more maintenance than modification. That is why i typed it "mod" in quotes.
I was just puttin it out there. Regardless of what you consider or call it, it should be the first thing you do when you buy a car.
Im sure many people buy a car and start buying and swapping on parts without considering the basic maintenance type stuff or doing a valve/retainer inspection.

On my car...
#1 - alarm & lojack
#1a - seat locks
#2 - window tint
#3 - stereo system
#4 - windscreen and wind blockers
#5 - exhaust
#6 - wheels/tires
#7 - brakes
#8 - coilovers
That was over a period of years. Spend some time getting to know the car and how it performs before you start throwing parts at it and screwing it up!

No doubt. I find on this forum, many owners try to help new s2k owners from making some major mistakes. It can get redundant, but I do understand the persistence of some members. But we all know that some people just don't change.
So to stay on topic, my bridgestone re-11a tires are very impressive overall. Noise, grip, ride are a good bit better than the falken tires that were on there.

I think you're buying the wrong car....
meanwhile, bring ALL maintenance up to date as mentioned previously. oil/brake fluid/clutch fluid/Diff Fluid/trans fluid/valve adjustment/axle nut/alignment.
then, the best tires you can afford. "oh, man, i gotta do maintenance? Can't i just drive it and go?"
yeah, not very sexy, eh? those mods are not going to get you laid, like, at all. not what you want to hear…but reality hits you hard, bro.
good luck and welcome to the fold.
oh yes, those were my first mods to the car. in 2 years, haven't done anything else. its just so good stock.

Why would you want to make major changes (ie suspension) when you haven't even driven the car yet? You don't even know how great the factory suspension and settings are.
Having said that- I'd recommend seat locks first and I hope you have a garage to keep the S2000 in.
