Default What would you guys do?

My S2k is flawless; 06, 20K miles, perfect paint, etc. I got a great deal on it, but there is one thing that bugs me. My dash has the dreaded rash . It is sort of difficult to see when you are in the car, but at some angles it really shows up, and with certain lighting you can see that there are quite a few bumps. Like I said you really can't notice it unless you look pretty hard, or if it is in just the perfect lighting, but I noticed it and now it kind of bugs me. I took it to Honda, since it still is under warranty and they said no dice on replacing the dash. To be honest at the time I was not to heart broken, because I had mixed feelings about them tearing the ENTIRE interior out of the car (worried about rattles and squeaks showing up). Now I am having second thoughts about pushing the issue a bit further, because some people have had their dash replace under warranty because of this issue, I am still not really sure if it is worth the risk though. Any thoughts?? Anyone have any ideas if there is a fix leaving the dash in??

If Honda fixes it and does a great job you'll be really happy. If they fix it and you end up with rattles and squeaks you'll be mad. It's a crap shoot. Just how bad does the dreaded rash bother you?? You have to decide if it's worth the risk of possibly trading rash for rattles. You are the only one who notices the rash. You have to look close just to see it. I don't know about you but rattles drive me crazy.

i would much rather have a little rash than the rattles, but neither would be the best case

If I pushed hard enough I think I could get it covered under warranty. But yeah, it really does not bother me until I notice it under just the perfect light and then I can really notice it. I will probabally just let it be. Maybe I will snap some pics if I get in the garage this weekend

I have the ugly bumps as well. I don't think I'll get it fixed. It's one of those jobs where you need to know that these guys will take care of you. That's why I'm a little antsy about getting my torn top fixed as well. If I decide to keep the car forever, I'll just get the dash upholstered with leather.
