You can get an aftermarket TPMS installed, but doubt you'll see enough mpg increase to justify the cost.

^It became required on cars sold in and after 2008, that doesn't mean that cars earlier than that couldn't have it.

95% of those systems don't even identify which tire has the problem, or what is even happening. It's just an idiot light of "something is severely fubar".
My Mazda had it, was pretty lame. On cold days on cold starts it complained that tire pressure was low, but once it had all warmed up the light went away.
