Ease of FI? Please explain, because i have been wondering about this.
I think DBW presents some additional issues when going FI.
If there are other MY differences (in terms of an FI install), I'm not aware of them.

I was in the same boat as you before I bought mine in April of this year.

In the end, I wanted a AP1 since I still feel it is the original intention of Honda's 50th anniv. car. So why not a 00-01? Well, the plastic rear window and the carpeted console, as well as it simply being older time wise.

I love the rainbow tach all the way across to 9K. There is nothing else like it still.

When I found a '03 30K certified with the OEM hardtop, I grabbed it. Ideally I would have liked to get white with black, but I would have had to go back to a '02. Not only that, I couldn't find a low mileage non beat to a pul white one anyway.

Good luck!

Get the S2000CR. It has ap1 steering and ap3 suspension. You don't see 60mph on the auto x and this car should rock in "A" Stock. We will see .
wow.. i wasnt aware of this. it has ap1 steering ratios??
what about gear ratios.. im assuming same as ap2 right ? theyre not gona throw in another 4.10 for the 2.2 L..

i had a choice between an 04 , 02-03 (about 40k miles +)
but i found a great deal on an 01 with 15,000 miles.
for track i believe its better to go with the ap1.
stiffer clutch, 4.10 gears(long 3rd gear im at 91mph at the end of 3rd), and shorter steering ratio than the ap2.

cant forget bout the 9k!

AP2 does have a bit more torque, but the real advantage in a straight line is the tranny...the first 4 gears are the equivalent of 4.56 gears in an AP1.
Not quite right... 4.56 gears are about 10% shorter than stock. The AP2 tranny is not that short.

AP2 Tranny compared to AP1:
Gears 1-4 = 4% lower
Gear 5 = 1% lower
Gear 6 = 2% higher

Not quite right... the whole point of our limited slip differential is to avoid transferring all of the power to the wheel that's off the ground. You're talking about an open differential, not a LSD.
Unfortunately, he's correct. ,With the design of the Torsen LSD, when one wheel is completely unloaded, the diff acts like it is open. It needs some amount of opposing force to cause the internals to bind up and do their thing.

Take a look at the max speeds in gears 1-4 on an ap2 compared to a 4.56 geared ap1.
