That video shows an S2000 going 281 KPH or 174.5 MPH.

That would be the now infamous Turbo Dave video clip....a slight downhill but damn, major pucker factor when he passes the two semi's!!!!!

This is a verified speed run (i.e. documented on video). Dave has moved on to other things...namely Porsches to my understanding.

Utah

P.S. I have the media file (CD ROM Real Player format).....any thoughts on how to post it?

Rev,

Is that 8950 rpm cut out for every gear, or just 6th?

The rev-limiter does not care what gear you are in or even if you are in gear. There is no sensor on the transmission to tell the ECU what gear you are in.

So it appears that all the Honda adds that say 9000 rpm are slightly inaccurate.

I guess all of this begs the question of what max RPM people have achieved in 6th gear, stock or otherwise. I realize that, when going that fast, most of us couldn't tear our eyes off the road to look at the speedo, much less the tach, especially to count the little bars. But, using Reverand's speed chart, a much more accurate measure of speed than the speedo, I thought maybe someone had tried.

By the way, although I've only been on this board a few months, I must say that Reverand's posts are invariably responsive, reflect a wealth of knowledge and are extremely helpful. Thanks for the effort; you are one of the reasons I spend time here.
