WHATS 6th gear MPH REDLINED??
Semi off topic:
I was reading that they did the same thing with the new Viper test mule, they set the red line at a different place than they were planning for the retail/production version.
Speaking of that, the article on the new Viper in Automobile mag is sweet.

There is an S2ki member named Wesmaster who topped his car out in 6th gear. He said bouncing off the rev limiter, his speedo changed between 169 and 170mph.
On a slight tangent, as I look at Reverend's charts, there doesn't seem to be much difference in performance between stock, the K&N and the AEM CAI. Is this an accurate conclusion?
I am admittedly clueless on this stuff...but learning thanks to you all.

From what I have read the benefits of filters are minimal. The biggest advantage is being able to recycle the aftermarket filters (washing or blowing out with air).
The CAI's seem to be a mixed bag, the best units create slight gains, but require expensive piping systems. Some people just like a different intake sound or cool looking parts under the hood. However the parts makers are trying hard to come up with benefits so they can market new products. Some may be great, I have not installed any yet.
Regarding the Reverend's tests, I would believe them! He is a very detail oriented guy who knows his car and doesn't B.S..
Cheers

Thanks for all the kind words, guys!

If you turn off the tire deformation checkbox on my calculator, you'll get a theoretical top speed of 170.6... which is dead on with what Wesmaster's speedometer reported. The 167 top speed would be your actual speed after accounting for the elasticity in the tire... which the speedo doesn't do.
johnnydev, the gains are actually fairly significant. While the difference between a stock s2000 and an s2000 with a CAI wont ever be as evident as the difference between a stock car and a turbocharged car, it is still an easily noticeable difference. If you look carefully, the CAI makes some solid 10+ hp gains around 3750 rpms and 6200 rpms. Near peak, the gains are more in the 2-5 hp range, but still nothing to scoff at.
These tests were done back to back, thus minimizing outside variables (other than heat soaking) factoring into the numbers.
