Default What's a good proximity alarm?

After last nights attempted attack in my S2000 with some kind of gold spray (thank god it wiped right off with acetone) I need a good alarm that works
with "jiggle" motion sensors and proximity sensors......

Several threads mention the Clifford Concept 600. I also have it and love it. However, it can be pretty expensive to get installed. There apparently is a do-it-yourself alarm that is supposedly decent, but someone else would have to attest to its quality.

Clifford concept 600 seem to be the choice over hear. Dual zone proximity which works even when roof down.

Can be manually set to different distances so not to annoy the neighbours and work collegues when parked up. Also has a shock/ tilt sensor so not easy to move either without the alarm being tripped.

Hope this helps.

You should also contact WLAURENT about his S2000 specific dual-zone alarm system.

I've installed multiple Clifford alarms in S2000's...I'm quite content with their features. The DEI guys say they are more difficult to install, but the feature list is richer.

I just had a Clifford Intelliguard 8000 (dual stage proximity sensor) installed. So far, so good.

Most likely the SEC-150R is it is a recent model. I have one of these too. The feature that sold me was the easy ability to adjust the sensor sensitivity via remote, including the dual-zone sensor.

It also locks the doors 10 seconds after turning the ignition on, but sometimes it doesn't. I'm still trying to find out why.

I used to have an Alpine 8080 and 8040 about 10 years ago. The 8080 worked great for a couple of years, then the remote range went from 100 yards to 1 foot, even with new batteries installed. The 8040 was great, especially since it was a dual-zone alarm and it chirps softly for a warning rather than the Viper at the time which barked out voice warnings: "Warning! You are too close to the car! Stand back!". Uuugh, very ghetto.

I have an older Clifford in the 1998 Camry, I think it's a Cyber 3. Works well enough, although the remote range is a bit crappy and the arm/disarm is odd.

For those of you that have Cliffords, how do your chirps work? Mine is 2-chirps=arm, 1-chirp=disarm, 3-chirps=sensor tripped. All my other alarms in the past have been 1=on, 2=off, 3 or more=sensor tripped. It drives me nuts.
