Whats needs to be done to a new S2000
Whats up guys my brother just got a 2005 with 3k miles....this week end we are taking out the Clutch Delay vale, changing the engine, diff and tranny oil....I saw the FAQ post with a lot of info....
But are there any other simple mods we can do to make the car more practical...like for instance a friend told me we should get seat locks....maybe cut out the resonator for a slightly deeper exhaust note that

First, this is the wrong forum for this. Under The Hood is for specific problems and issues. This belongs in S2000talk, so I will move it for you.
Next, before you change the oil (why are you changing it out at only 3000 miles?) keep in mind you should NOT USE SYNTHETIC until you have at least 7500-10,000 miles on the car. And even then, if you're going to use synthetic and change it every 4000 miles, then you're just wasting money. Read the "oil journals" in the UTH forum at the top. You'll learn a TON about engine oil.
The car doesn't have any "weaknesses" per se. That's all in the eye of the beholder. Also, the car does not understeer....

Also is it a bad idea to have a V1 radar....even if you put it away in the "secret compartment" and lock it when the car is parked...
In truth, I don't think there's anything that "needs" to be done to a new S2000. This car comes hot right out of the box. There is a ton of stuff you can do if you "want" to. It all depends on what you want out of the car.
I'd suggest pouring through the posted FAQ's. Then you can decide what your brother needs and wants out of his car.
Good luck.

It seems silly to me to not even have a car for a week, never having driven it to its full potential, and start hacking it to pieces.
Why did your brother choose a car that wasn't right for him (and you, apparently)?
You should be writing to us about sublime curve carving sunset ridgeline drives, exhilarating track days, and slow peaceful cruises. Not about crawling under the car, draining it's precious fluids, cutting off its resonators, and fixing understeer (???)! What a crappy weekend!
I agree with the sentiment above. DRIVE the damn thing.
And save up for tires.
The number one way to get performance improvement out of an S2000 is to drive it on a track with a qualified instructor.
The number two way to get performance is to have fresh rubber on those round things.
