What's a SEV Power Band?
Just saw this little wrap-around thingie on the exhaust piping. The article said it's used for better low-end torque. Does anyone have any info on this, like if it actually works, price? Anything? Check it out:

Actually, this was discussed in another thread in under the hood called "please, tell me this is a joke". The Japanese are true believers of this technology.click this site www.racingcraft.com/js-products-sev.shtml and read about it. Go to the above mentioned thread and see the ridicule it received from the members of this board.

HondaGuy, BTW, are you really looking for a louder muffler (the carbon fiber one) than your Amuse? Everyone would hear you from 3 blocks instead of 2

Ok I can easily understand how unbelievers you can become about this.
After all, I had similar reaction of disbelief about this thing called SEV.
Who is daring enough to sunk in 1000-3000 to try it out? Probably none including myself. But would you try something of this calibur but at cost of $30-$70?
Still majority will not bite I believe, but if that is the case then that is your loss.
The Japanese enthusiasts devised the incredible product while using the similar idea but at fraction of the prohibitive cost. While I befriended with this ingenious guy the process of getting to know fully about this has been very slow since both of us are very busy doing other things. However this guy or should I say group of guys have been testing and experimenting literally everyday to make things better.
I myself had a pleasure of using the basic early version of this on one part of the system and I felt the difference already.
These ion bands are made to fit around intake, exaust, fueling line, coolant hose.
The immediate benefit is the low-rev range and some mid and high rev ends can be benefited using different materials. Since this is universal all types of vehicles can benefit from this.
At the upcoming DC,MD,VA meet on August 11, if you can attend will be able to check it out on my car. I have two bands on intake hose but before the meet I am planning on putting the bands on exaust.
I will then post the pictures as promised on the other thread and I will assure you that additional report will be given to you.
I would want to wholeheartedly urge all of you to take interest in this but I will not push or make anyone to try this. If you still want to flat out reject this then it is your loss.
The advanced staged band will be ship to me shortly when the guys at Japan have some free time and when I get it I will share with you of what I find.

1Randyc, I'm looking forward to your future posts on this subject (and the pics)! I do not yet believe or disbelieve this technology. I just don't know enough about it to make a judgement. Nor do I have the expendable cash to "take a chance" on it. If other posters try this out and enough of them report gains or improvement, I'd be a taker (of the N-sev, not the $1000-$3000 version
). That guy who runs the "I love S2000" site should consider giving you some extra SEV material to let you demonstrate on others S2000's at the upcoming meet. He has a potentially big customer base here.
