What's up with the modifications?!?
I wonder if fish like chocolate. Hmmm...how about strawberries? I wonder if they like strawberries.
I like both strawberries and chocolate. Fishing is fun, too. Maybe next time I'll fish with some chocolate.
Life is good...
Just like my mom used to tell me, "If you drop your keys in a river of molten lava, you can forGET 'em, because they are GONE!"
Yep...

I think mods and collecting are an invaluable parts of the auto culture. Part of why many of us like the stook is because it is unique. Refer to the numerous threads about how common the z3 and boxter are and this is pretty evident. Mods are one means for an owner to make their stook even more unique and personalized. Interstingly, NOT modding or driving a stook is done for the same reasons. The whole reason why a stock/pristine car has "value" in the future is because at that time in the future IT will be unique. I think the pride an owner has for their vehicle is directly related to the appreciation they have for the way they have treated it. It amazes me that participants here can't just recognize that we all appreciate our vehicles differently. Mod it, collect it, race it, DISCUSS it, whatever. Just keep the egos out of the posts and if someone offends you let it slide.
this is another one of those topics that shows that the audience for the S2000 is not a unified and simple one - and that thus the audience of this board is in a similar way made up of a number of diverse groups.
this sort of moment will happen in a community like this. the key to getting through these moments is to understand that we're a bunch of different groups - with different motivations, desires and values. If we can understand this, we can at least respect eachother.
there are those of us who come from an import tuner background. and others of us come from the SCCA racer side of the game. and some love having a sweet convertible to profile around town in. others are sportscar enthusiasts/collectors. the list goes on. and each, and every one of them has validity and truth. we just need to keep this in mind when shit like this comes up and not think that somehow *only* our little slice of the world is right.
i mean, after all... we ALL bought the S2000 so we kind of all have to be right, right?
grin...

"giampiero" !!!!! I 'm glad to hear the 356 lives on! Are you an A, B or C fan?
As for your comments on modding... I stand corrected. I too would love to get my hands on rudge knock off wheels.....sigh. And I went with the sc coupe seats in my restoration. Much better IMHO.
