If you're gonna be gone more than a couple of days, I'd garage it. Don't know about your town but where I live once a few days of dust accumulated on the car the punks would know the owner is gone. They'd tow it and strip it.

 

I've always been told if they want it they'll get it.. So I started to have that whatever attitude. Seemed to work because everytime I had hoped not, but always expected it I was fine.

Every other time I got worried or paranoid.. Low and behold something gets jacked.

 

Nice idea but not practical. If they can't take your wheels they'll probably take your seats. Best advice is a garage and a shotgun.
