Default Wheels Stolen

Hey,

Fitted my 2004 with HT3's and LM22's for the winter and now there gone? Showed up to my parking garage this morning in NW Surburbs and found the car on bricks.

These guys were slick, they slashed the top (bent to too, looks like the layed on it and reached inside) to get inside where they released the trunk. In the trunk they found the wheel lock and the rest is history. They placed bricks at all four jacking points and left the car in the air so nothing is damaged (its at my mechanics now ensuring nothing on the bottom is damaged).

Anyone live out in the NW Chicago Suburbs and have the simlar experience? What suprises me is that they took HT3's? These were the cheapest wheels I could buy for my snows and they weight at least 3 to 4 lbs more than the stock wheels, not sure if they fit on much else either? I was in a garage full of G35's, boxsters and other german cars and they went for shitty gravity cast wheels

So if any fishey looking Mille Miglia HT3's (17x8 & 17x7) with B-Stone LM22's pop up on the web I'd sure like to check them out.

man that sucks! I seriously hate thieves! Good thing there is no body damage (beside the top), and atleast they left your car on blocks... I've seen worst!

Goodluck with everything!

I live in Chicago and I'm waiting for the day when I walk out to the parking garage to find my SSR Comps gone. Wheel locks are simply a nuisance, it won't stop them. All it takes is a hammer and socket and those wheel locks are coming off.

Man, I am sorry to hear it. I am glad that they jacked up the car properly, and the frame wasn't damaged.

I had my car (not my s2k) broken into 4 times when i lived in Chicago. I actually ran one of the theives down and caught him. He was looking for money in my car and broke two windows to do it...

Parking garage in the NW burbs?

Where, which one? I need to stay informed of where in the burbs it's getting bad to leave your car.

Do you have any pics of the wheels so that we may know what to look for if we find anyone local?

Check us out at the upper midwest forums.

where would YOU leave it?!?

somewhere convenient where it may be useful in the future? oh... let's say with the toolkit and jack (where it makes most sense)?
