Wheels or Suspension upgrade first?
I am pretty sure I am going to get
for this but what the hell. I am looking to get either Tein Flex suspension or SSR GT3 18s. I know one is more for show and the other more for go but just curious what you guys would do first. Ultimately I would like to have both on my car but money prevents me for getting both at the same time. So which first?

i second dropping it. makes the car handle better (if done right), and with larger rims, youa re usually adding alot more weight to the car...which means it'll actually be slower.
hey f20, what kind of rims are those, they are very clean

I have read about 50 post about Tein, and people's responses to them. Just like to get others opponions. Do you autocross/track your car much? I really like the Flex because it is right in my price range but if they suck (which from what I read I don't think they do) I would rather same by pennies and get a better set. I don't plan to track much so I figured I should get a good street set. Thanks for any info.

These puppies are Volk SF-Challenge. Tein is overall good. I personally have the RA version. Do some search about the flex. I think i heard good reviews in this board though. Hope I helped.

if you eventually get both, get the coilovers first so your car doesn't look like a rally car when you get your rims.

Is there better for less money? Definitely!
I would recommend searching a bit in the Racing and Competetion area and seeing what their opinions of the Tiens and other Japanese Coilovers are. Also, surf the Honda Tech Racing and Autocross forums. The consensus is that if you want Coilovers, go big bucks and get JRZ's or Motons. If you don't have that kind of money(like me) get a set of Koni Yellow shocks and some Ground Controls. If you do some research of the shocks and how they perform on the shock dynos, you will find that Koni shocks far outperform all the mid range Japanese coilovers such as Tien or Buddy Club. Yea, there are going to be a lot of people tell you how great their Tiens are but these people do not autocross or track their cars.
I paid about $580 for my Koni's and I have priced Ground Controls for my S2000 for under the $399 suggested retail price. Plus, getting custom spring rates for the Ground Controls is very easy and cheap.
Good luck.
