Do they suck? No.

Is there better for less money? Definitely!

I would recommend searching a bit in the Racing and Competetion area and seeing what their opinions of the Tiens and other Japanese Coilovers are. Also, surf the Honda Tech Racing and Autocross forums. The consensus is that if you want Coilovers, go big bucks and get JRZ's or Motons. If you don't have that kind of money(like me) get a set of Koni Yellow shocks and some Ground Controls. If you do some research of the shocks and how they perform on the shock dynos, you will find that Koni shocks far outperform all the mid range Japanese coilovers such as Tien or Buddy Club. Yea, there are going to be a lot of people tell you how great their Tiens are but these people do not autocross or track their cars.

I paid about $580 for my Koni's and I have priced Ground Controls for my S2000 for under the $399 suggested retail price. Plus, getting custom spring rates for the Ground Controls is very easy and cheap.

Good luck.
Thanks, I will have to look into those.

John

Where'd you get Konis for $580?

IMO, drop it first! I personally think a lowered car always look good. Even with stock rims.

I got mine for $600 from a company in TX(Dallas area if I remember correctly). After you get the perches from GC and your base "base" springs, another set runs $200. This is good if later down the line you want to stiffen things up. I use 380's at all fours, but will have 500/550 for the track this spring.

I bought mine through a group buy about a year and a half ago. I have seen them for about the same price here on group buys. If you want the best deal, I would recommend going to HondaTech.com and searching there. You can get some incredible deals on stuff there.

BTW, by doing the above mentioned, you will not necessarily improve handling. The stock setup is quite capable.

yup, definatly drop it first. Not much worse than the huge gap with 18's.

FF2Skip,

You took words right out of my mouth.
But what can you do. Alot of people associates droping their car with better handling.

Instead of wasting money into these mods which may not improve the car's handling, perhaps it is wiser idea to spend money on hyperformance driving school and HPDE events. or better yet, attend local SCCA auto x events.
