Thumbs up When is '06 will be on the dealer lot ?

I was going to get an 05 but I am thinking I may as well wait a few more months and get an 06. Do you know when they will be available ?

Why wait? '05s can be had for good prices now.

Stop putting it off and get your Arse in an S.

Something to think about:
  • Interest rates are starting to go up as a result of inflation pressures
  • Energy prices are going up, resulting in increased manufacturing and transportation costs
  • The cost of most materials, especially steel has increased significantly worldwide in the last year. Since auto companies typically have model year contract pricing from their suppliers, their costs wouldn't go up until the next model year
  • The dollar has weakened compared to the yen in recent months
There's a good chance that the price of all vehicles will go up next year. If I were you, I wouldn't wait until the next model year comes out.

But on the other hand, with the kind of mediocre sales trend, all the auto manufacturers will have to keep price reasonable. If you can wait, it might serve you better in the end. Price on 05 will only come down as months go and you can always make the decision to buy one as there are plenty 05s around, I think. That is just my opinion. However if you want to get one right away, you might consider what others are saying as well. But regardless, you will enjoy S2K and S2KI. Good luck!

I have dealers near me that still have 2004s.

So do the 06s come out in October?

Yup mid-late September last year. I bought mine mid-september and the 05's started to trickle in at mid-September and continued rolling in for about 3-4 weeks. I would seriously look for an 04. The place I bought from had 3 left on the lot and I know they didn't sell either before winter. http://www.schlossmannimports.com/en_US/

Knowing all of these things, I am still of the theory that you very rarely save money by buying sooner rather than later. Chances are, a new car will mean higher insurance rates, and every month you go without a car payment will easily outweigh the rise in price of a new car from year to year.

It's just a matter of when you are ready for a new car. You could also just wait forever out of fear of having something that's outdated...
