Funny. For as long as I've been around, they've said that for every MY. It's generally considered a sales ploy used by lying salespeople to generate the "you better get it now or else" mentality.

I'm not saying it's not going to happen eventually though.

The S2000 went through some modest changes in 2004. I've never seen a car company make significant changes to a vehicle after just 2 years of production. The changes for '06 will likely be subtle, like the changes made from '00 through '03.

they better stroke it to 2.5L and change the name to S2500. actually what I'd like to see is a better torque curve from a redesigned intake/exhaust

Yeah, mid to late September for the 06 release. I would wait for that to come out if you don't really need a car now. Here are my reasons,

1. If for some reason Honda discontinues the car and the 05 is truly the last year, then no loss on your part and you'll get a good deal on an 05 b/c it's a discontinued model.

2. The S2000 hasn't gone 2 years without some sort of change. My guess would be that in 06 there will be slight alterations to make it better in some way either cosmetically, or perfomance wise. I'm sure it won't be huge since they just did alot for the 04+, but something convenient like when they switched to a glass window on the 02's.
