Default When is the best time for your 1st oil change?

I just hit 3,300 miles and on the trip computer it says"oil life 40%"...should I wait for the recommended 7k (if I am not mistaken) or just get it done around 5k or so??? And as for synthetic (if I do decide to switch to it), should I start to use it at around 10k ??? Thanx

What's your owner's manual say? An '06 uses a complicated algorithm to determine how much "life" is left in your oil. Why second guess it? Also, your owner's manual will tell you an exception to waiting for the oil minder to tell you when. Read it and find out what that is. It might even make some reference to when to use synthetic.
