When was the last time you changed your cabin filter?

I did mine in March or April and the original looked similar to the one pictured above.
The first thing I noticed after putting it in was that the smell coming from the heat/AC was more "fresh" and "new car" smelling.
By the way for anyone doing it, there's a thread around here somewhere that explains the steps. When you are pulling up the insulation that lines the back of the hood you can make it super easy by using a small socket (something like 4-8mm, I can't remember exactly) to pop up the little plastic things that hold the insulation piece down from the bottom.

I have changed mine once in seven years.
And that one time? Gross.

I bought a Wix cabin filter and put it in the car, then I took the dirty Honda one and washed it and put it in the Wix box. Then every spring I switch the filters out and clean the dirty one and put it away till next year. Our top is down most of the year so all I need the filters to do is keep the bugs and other big stuff out of the air ducks.
